Abstract

Intervening with children with attachment disorders has been a topic of interest in the past few decades. Different studies in the areas of neuroscience, psychology and social work have permitted professionals to incorporate new techniques and strategies for intervention and ultimately to repair the damage suffered by extreme neglect and abuse in infancy. In addition to security, comfort and care needed by at-risk children, newer techniques such as rocking, reconstruct their life history and emotional-age intervention have provided children and their care-takers with new tools to promote resiliency.
