Abstract

This book-album reports on the results of a longitudinal study that examines how researchers in Social Work are trained. The work of 16 professionals of the area is shown through 16 testimonies, which assemble fragments of their career trajectories in different periods of their lives. The text invites us to think about such journeys from a double hermeneutic point of view: as stories interpreted by their own protagonists, and as stories being interpreted by those who edit and read them. The compiler highlights the importance of trajectories in the development of academic careers, and thus invites us to look at academic and disciplinary work from the inside. The purpose of this book is to identify research practices and show the different paths people can take throughout their lives. It shows a diversity of life paths to allow, particularly children and young people, to envision futures that are different from those they have imagined.
