From the perspective of Applied Linguistic, this research looks into verbal communicative competence of Chilean teenagers, specifically, into the quality of their conversational interaction. It focuses on the “attitudes of collaboration or rejection in thematic construction”, in the way it is manifested and in their incidence on the quality of conversation.
