Abstract

Clinical case reports are a genre belonging to the healthcare professions, with a character that, unlike other medical genres, we consider markedly narrative. However, not all authors agree to this consideration. In this article we review the textual sequences present in a corpus of clinical case reports belonging to the disciplines related to mental health (neurology, psychiatry, psychology), in Spanish, Catalan and English. We show that, although they are a heterogeneous genre, their prototypical sequence is, precisely, narrative.
