Abstract

The literary neologism in the poetry of the Costa Rican Laureano Alban is investigated in this article. This is an exploratory, quantitative-qualitative research. In addition to the lin - guistic analysis, a stylistic analysis is performed to better understand the neologism practice in the Albanian context. 221 neologisms are identified in 23 of the 26 poetry books of this author. 88,7% of neologisms is morphological. 67,4% of this is formed by derivation (50,66% by suffixing, 12,67% by prefixing and 4,1% by parasynthesis). 49,8% of neologisms corresponds to adjectives and adjectival participles. 54,3% of neologisms demands the virtualization of its neological base. 47,59% of neologisms is present at the postmaturity reflective production stage of Alban, mostly in the fourth volume of the Encyclopedia of Wonderland (127/43,79%). Some correlations between the neologism of Alban and other 19 Hispanic poets are estab - lished. 143 neologisms (the 64,7% analyzed) are exclusively from Alban. The literary neologism in Alban poetry is isotopic with his transcendentalist perspective. The literary neologism in the poetry of the Costa Rican Laureano Alban is investigated in this article.
