Abstract

This article examines some features of Kawesqar stories, so far an unknown aspect of the oral literature of this ethnic group, one of the most ancient Fueguian peoples of Chile. Some issues in translating this type of oral literature is also examined from a general point of view and, in particular, issues found in the translation of Kawesqar texts.
