Abstract

(The purpose of the article is to show the functional dynamics of the discourse marker no sé po(h) in a variety of the Spanish spoken in Chile. Ten subjects were analyzed, out of a probabilistic sample of 230 people, all residents in the city of Temuco, Chile. The analysis showed that this discourse marker appears in two main macrofunctions: reformulation and attenuation, with their corresponding subdivisions. Examples of the subdivisionas found are given.)
