Abstract

This paper examines critically assertive sentences containing deictic ex­pressions, as viewed by G. Frege. The author shows how, contrary to Fregean postulates concerning this type of sentences, the utterly antipsycological notion ofsense, as well as the mere/y extensional character of his semantic system, become unsurmountable hindrances to give a consisten! account of the meaningful working of sentences containing some token-rejlexive expression
