Abstract

In this paper, the author intends to show the sign/ficance of gloria in the Worldview of the Romans of the Classical Age, and how this conception plays  an important role in Saint Augustine's thought, especially in his monumental  City of God. It seems especially relevant that the ideas of ciuitas Dei and  ciuitas terrena, after being defined and distinguished by amor, find in the concept of glory of God and gloria terrena an additional element for their interpretation)
